What If Your Church Became the Church God Imagined?
Every church longs to see people growing as disciples, leaders serving with joy, relationships restored and communities transformed by the love of Christ. Yet many churches find themselves facing challenges that make this vision feel difficult to achieve - from busyness and tiredness to unhealthy cultures and a need to rediscover what God intended His Church to be.
But what if we returned to God's original design?
The Church: God's Glory Container
When Jesus walked this earth, He revealed the invisible God perfectly. As Scripture tells us, "all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell in Him." Through Jesus, we saw the heart and character of the Father.
Then, at Pentecost, something extraordinary happened. The Holy Spirit came upon God's people, and the Church became the body of Christ on earth, God's dwelling place, His representatives and the people through whom He continues His work in the world.
The Church is called to be a visible expression of God's love, wisdom and glory.
Imagine if every believer understood that we, the Church in Christ, are called to carry His presence into the world. Imagine if every church lived from this identity and purpose.
A Vision for Churches Across the World
This is the vision behind Becoming the Church God Imagined, a brand-new six-session leadership course created for church leadership teams across the globe.
The course invites leaders to rediscover God's design for His Church and consider what it means to become:
- A family of God, living in unity, love and mutual care.
- A place of transformation, where people are continually growing to become more like Jesus.
- A people on mission, where every believer understands their part in God's work of rescuing, redeeming, reconciling and restoring lives.
- A people who display God's wisdom and glory, revealing His purposes to the world around them.
This is not simply about improving church programmes or adopting new strategies. It is about rediscovering who we are called to be as the people of God.
Helping Make This Vision a Reality
Freedom in Christ International believes this message is needed by churches around the world.
To make Becoming the Church God Imagined available to church leaders everywhere, the course needs to be professionally filmed and produced. This will enable leadership teams across different nations and denominations to access this resource and be equipped to lead their churches towards God's vision.
