Pastor Juan Ovando is our Representative for Freedom in Christ in Argentina. He took a mission trip to minister among the indigenous tribes in Peru; Juan was able to introduce Freedom in Christ to this community. These young men (pictured above) are from an indigenous tribe in Peru that Pastor Juan worked with.
Juan said, “The young people were very moved by doing the Steps to Freedom in Christ! For many of the men and women in the group, when we came to forgiveness, there were many tears as they found their freedom from past hurts, and found true and lasting freedom in Christ alone!”
Beatriz Argüello, wife of Andrés Bundo, the lead pastor’s wife of Iglesia del Pacto Cristiana in Bogotá Colombia writes: “On Friday nights our church has had small groups for many years. When the quarantine began in Colombia, we made the decision to introduce the Freedom in Christ material for all of our small groups. We are working with twelve groups of between 10 to 20 people per zoom. Each group has two facilitators. I meet on Sunday morning with all of the leaders to study the material together and also prepare them for their Friday evening Freedom in Christ small groups. Two small groups meet at our center for rehab for drug addicts. The photo (below) are of some of the men that live in community in a farm we have for rehab.”
Roberto Reed, the Regional Director for Freedom in Christ in Latin America writes, “It is so encouraging to see this church that has taken hundreds of people through the Steps over the years, and helped many people be set free from drug addiction, start using not only the Steps, but the Freedom in Christ Course with each teaching before and after the Steps on a lifestyle of living free in Christ and growing in maturity. And not only are they using the course to help drug addicts be set free in Christ but using this same resource for the whole church.”
Please join us in praying for the Freedom message to be proclaimed far and wide in Latin America, for our reps there, and for Roberto and Nancy, as they spearhead the ministry there.
